Some of the links on Cat Seat earn us a commission, and this page explains how that works before you click one.

How affiliate links work

When you click a product link on the site and buy something from the retailer, the retailer pays us a small percentage of the sale. The price you pay doesn’t change. The commission comes out of the retailer’s side, not yours.

Amazon Associates

Cat Seat is a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com.

As an Amazon Associate, Woman Getting Media LLC earns from qualifying purchases.

Other programs

We may join other affiliate programs over time (pet retailers, subscription services, product brands). Any article containing affiliate links will make that clear, and this page will stay current as those relationships change. Cat Seat is published by Woman Getting Media LLC, which is the entity enrolled in every program we participate in.

How we decide what to recommend

Affiliate income has no influence on which products we cover. Every recommendation has to clear the same standards:

  • We only recommend things we’d actually buy for Thelma and Louis. If we wouldn’t put it in front of our own cats, it doesn’t go on the site.
  • We test products hands-on whenever we can. Many of our reviews, especially anything labeled “Louis Tested” or “Thelma Approved,” are based on direct experience with our cats.
  • We research thoroughly when hands-on testing isn’t possible, drawing on veterinary sources, ingredient analysis, brand reputation, and verified owner reviews.
  • We disclose limitations. If we haven’t personally tested something, we say so in the article.
  • An affiliate relationship never changes our opinion. If something is mediocre, we say it’s mediocre, and anything we recommend, we’d recommend whether or not a commission was attached.

If you use our links, thank you

Commissions pay for the research and testing behind the site, and they cost you nothing extra. We’re grateful when readers choose to shop through our links.

The fine print

This disclosure follows the Federal Trade Commission’s Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising (16 CFR Part 255) and the operating agreements of the affiliate programs we participate in. Questions about any of it can go to hello@catseat.com.
